Schloß Leitheim was built from 1680 to 1696 by the Cistertians of Kaisheim as a model ecclesiastical summer residence. From 1740 to 1751 a second storey was added and adorned with frescoes by Godefried Bernhard Göz thus making it an outstanding example of the golden age of the Bavarian rococo period. It is the family residence of the Tuchers of the lineage of the Tuchers from Nuremberg since 1835 and was opened to the public after being renovated in 1960 – 1970. Since 1959 concerts, the "Leitheimer Schloßkonzerte", have been held in the rococo hall.
